Amy Johnson received her B.S. in Music Education from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Music from Illinois State University. Before moving to California Miss Johnson taught for ten years in Illinois where she was an elementary band director, junior high school band director, and high school band director. In 2002, Miss Johnson received her National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification.

Miss Johnson has been a teacher in MBUSD since 2003, teaching band at Mira Costa High School for three years before accepting the position as band director for all of the district's elementary schools.

Miss Johnson is excited about meeting all of the wonderful third, fourth, and fifth graders. She expects that everyone will have a great year in band!
